Rev. Doug Wintermute
The Rev. Doug Wintermute serves as lead pastor at Jacksonville First United Methodist Church.
He earned an Associate of Science degree from Henderson County Junior College (now Trinity Valley Community College) in 1981, and a Bachelor of Science degree from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M — Commerce) in 1984. He worked for newspapers and in public relations for community colleges for 20 years before entering the ministry. He earned a Master of Divinity degree from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in 2009 and in 2011 was ordained an elder in the Texas Annual Conference.
Rev. Wintermute served St. Andrews and Murvaul UMCs in Carthage, TX, Greggton UMC in Longview, DeKalb First United Methodist Church in DeKalb, TX before being appointed to Jacksonville FUMC in 2015.
He and his wife, Pam, have two children. Sarah is a physical therapist in Paris, TX, and Emily is a college student at Texas A&M University in College Station.
